Day 1: ARRIVAL IN SOUTH SUDAN –JUBA CITY

On your arrival at the airport in Juba, the capital city of South Sudan, You will be welcomed by our driver guide who will transfer you to your booked hotel for rest, refresh, and arrange travel permits (stamp in the passport). 

The rest of the day is free to relax at the hotel. In the evening after dinner, you will be briefed about the following day’s program and finally Overnight stay at Royal Palace. 

DAY 2: FLY FROM JUBA TO KAPOETA

In the morning after breakfast, you will board 2 hours domestic flight from Juba to Kapoeta the main city for toposa and overnight stay at either Hotel or camping. Meal Plan (BLD)  

Day 3 AND 4: STAY WITH THE TOPOSA

Using Kapoeta as a base we explore the villages of the Toposa people, one of the country’s most traditional ethnic groups.  We stop in villages and head to the nearby river where local people mine for gold, digging deep holes in the river banks to extract small grains of the precious metal. 

The Toposa are a fascinating group, related to the Turkana in Kenya, who live well outside of mainstream society and follow lifestyles that have barely changed for centuries, if not millennia. We return to Kapoeta each night. Overnight Camping  

DAY 5: TRANSFER FROM TO BOYA

Today our driver will transfer you for Toposa to the hills of Boya to discover a group of people hiding here, through trekking the isolated hills you will visit the boya people with interesting culture and finally, an overnight stay, Camping. Meal Plan (BLD).

DAY 6: STAY WITH BOYA

Today, you will spend the whole day with boya people exploring their fascinating culture.

DAY 7: TRANSFER TO KAPOETA

Last morning with boya tribe and then transfer to Kapoeta from overnight as you wait for your following day flight to Juba

DAY 8: FLY TO JUBA

In the morning after breakfast, you will board 2 hours of domestic flight from Kapoeta to Juba city and overnight stay at the Royal Palace Hotel. Meal Plan (BLD)  

DAY 9: DRIVE TO THE MUNDARI

Today after breakfast we transfer from Juba capital city for a 3 -4 hours drive to Terakeka, a center of the Mundari people. From the hotel, we drive roughly 75 kilometers north of Juba, the capital of South Sudan into the countryside to meet the Mundari, a traditional ethnic group known for their facial scarring and traditional rituals. 

We hope to be able to see one of the regular wrestling ceremonies that take place between the different villages, it will be an optional decision to participate or just enjoy as our guide keep on explaining.   Overnight camping. Hours; (3-4 Hours’ Drive) 75Km Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner  

DAY 10 AND 11:  EXPLORE MUNDARI CATTLE CAMP.

You will spend two full days with the Mundari, exploring their fascinating culture and customs. 

DAY 12: DRIVE BACK TO JUBA AND FLY OUT OF SOUTH SUDAN

After a final morning with the Mundari, we drive back to Juba straight to your hotel for relaxation, refreshing your minds, and then transfer to the airport for your international flight back home.
